Achtung! The latest from Hinterhof

Hello to all who have been following the Hinterhof journey!

We know that you have waited for a long time to hear from us-we wanted to say thank you for all the messages and emails you all have sent us over the past months. 

It’s  been a difficult time for everyone these last months and for restaurants it has been particularly hard. Here at Hinterhof it has been no different. We have given it our all since we opened in 2019. We felt that we could change people’s minds about vegan restaurants and to introduce the community to the Berlin Beer Garden culture in an inviting, relaxed setting. We feel like we accomplished this and a lot more in the last two plus years and had a lot of fun doing it, even in a pandemic. Now it is time for us to move on to the next chapter in our lives and say Tschüß (goodbye) to our beloved Hinterhof. We know that you will miss Hinterhof and we will, without a doubt, miss it as well. To say that this was a difficult decision for us is an understatement. We’ve navigated through a lot of challenges and the desire to reopen and carry on was a very real one. In the end, we feel the time to say goodbye is upon us.

We want to especially thank our great employees that have stuck with us through it all. Without them there would never have been a Hinterhof. They’ve pushed through everything that was thrown at them: lines of customers down the block, never ending Oktoberfest nights or donning PPE and working long hours in a pandemic. We became a family, and we will miss them the most. 

We really want to say a proper goodbye to everyone and give you all, our loyal customers, a chance to say goodbye as well. So, to that point, we are happy to announce that Hinterhof will be opening one last time next Saturday, May 15 from 3:00-9:00 pm. 

We are sad to say Auf Wiedersehen to Hinterhof, but we are very excited to see another vegan restaurant take over our beautiful space. It is going to be a great addition to both the vegan and HLP community! More about this very soon!

We hope to see you all at our last Hinterhof night. Come by for Jägerschnitzel, Potato Pancakes, Spätzle and of course our German Beer and Pretzels!
